How we check codes
What an offer has to pass before it is pinned to the board.
The board is re-sorted every morning. Here is what happens to an offer between the retailer publishing it and it being pinned.
It has to come from the retailer
Offers are taken from retailers’ affiliate programme feeds and nowhere else. Foreign-currency offers, restricted categories, duplicates and plain links dressed up as codes are dropped before anyone reads them.
It has to work
A person adds an item to a basket on the retailer’s site and types the code. If the discount does not show, the offer is not pinned. The title is rewritten so it says what the saving actually is.
It has to be dated
The retailer’s end date goes on the card. If none was given, the card says “no end date given” rather than inventing one.
It has to carry its catch
Minimum spends, excluded ranges and one-use limits are pulled out of the retailer’s terms and written on the card, not hidden behind a click.
It comes down when it ends
On its end date the offer leaves the board. It is kept briefly in a marked “expired” area so you can see what changed, then deleted.
You can send it back
A code that fails for you can be reported; it is re-tried the same day and pulled if it is dead.
